Evanglism meeting: January 26, 2003

v     We began our meeting with reading chapter ten from the book of Acts.

*  Cornelius who was a Gentile had a vision to send for Peter to preach to him the word of God.

*  Peter was told in a vision to kill and eat animals and birds which was against the Jewish custom for that they believed that it was unclean.  Peter then learns symbolically that nothing which God has made is of itself unclean, therefore, he preached the word of God to Cornelius and his household and by that the church was opened to the Gentiles.

*  Although the Holy Spirit fell upon Cornelius and his household while Peter was preaching, Peter commanded them to be baptized in the name of the Lord to teach us that baptism is essential for our salvation.

v     Discussed our on going project “The Lost Sheep”

“I say to you that likewise there will be more joy in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine just persons who need no repentance” (Luke 15:7).

*  The Lord has blessed our project for it has been very successful, we continue to visit our beloved youth that haven’t been coming to church.   The Lord has helped us manage to go visit about ten youth during the past two weeks.

*  Each of us will pray for the person that they visited.  May the Lord hear our prayers concerning them and help them find their way back to church.

v     Discussed our Library project

“Happy is the man who that finds wisdom, and the man that gets understanding” Prov 3:13.

*  We will start looking for a bookshelf and a place where we can keep the books.  We are also in the process of getting a list of all books that we will keep in our library.
