Course
Description:
This course examines the effect of
addictions on people. Use and abuse of different addictive agents,
effects of abuse, adolescent drug use, and sexual addiction.
Principles for helping the addict are
explored.
Course
Objectives:
At the conclusion of the course,
students will:
- Understand
what is addiction?
- What lay counselors should know about
drugs
- The
warning signs and treatment of substance abuse, the
addiction cycle, recovery from addiction, and a spiritual road to
recovery
