Course Description:
This course is an introduction to the lay Christian helping
ministry in our Coptic Orthodox church.This course will emphasize
the root foundations of Christian
counseling. Profile of a shepherd-lay helper. lessons learned from
the good shepherd

Objectives:
The student
will:
1. Develop an
appreciation for what lay counseling is and is
not.
2. Learn the
definitions of counseling from an Orthodox point of
view.
3. Be provided
with a balanced perspective on the field of
counseling.
4. Know why one
should be engage in lay counseling.
