Dr. Istafanous received his medical degree from Alexandria University in Egypt. He then went on to complete a psychiatry residency from UMNDNJ-New Jersey Medical School in Newark, NJ, where he also completed his fellowship training in child psychiatry. He is a member of the American Psychiatry Association and the American Academy of Child & Adolescent Psychiatry. He is currently an Assistant Professor at the University of Texas-San Antonio.
