If one receives a sign indicating condemnation and perishing in hell. How should one handle  his matter? Should one consider it as automatically from the devil or could it be a trial from God, for the sake of building one's character and virtues such as humility etc...?

"We give thanks to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, praying always for you, since we heard of your faith in Christ Jesus and of your love for all the saints; because of the hope which is laid up for you in heaven..." (Colossians 1:5).

A note of concern arises after reading your first statement/question; it appears to lack hope. Be assured any sign that negates hope cannot be from God.

"Humility is a living virtue that we must cultivate in our daily spiritual live." His Holiness Pope Shenouda III, in his commentary "Beware of False Humility"  attributes a saying to St. Barsenophius -- "Acquire humility, because it breaks all the snares of the enemy." It is this enemy, the same Enemy against Faith, Hope, and Love, that stirs you to confusion, debating the signs. For by faith, with hope, and through love, we strive {daily} for the kingdom of heaven. St. John the Short is quoted by His Holiness {in the same commentary} in referring to the first of the Beatitudes which commands humility in order to obtain the kingdom of heaven, ["Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven" (Matthew 5:3}].

In I Corinthians 9:27, St. Paul is not only diligent in seeking to preach salvation to the world, but in humility, he is cautious not to lose his own salvation through negligence or arrogance.
