Disunity within Christianity is a disturbing issue. I know that God, for sure, does not like this disunity among the Oriental Orthodox, the Eastern Orthodox, and the Roman Catholics. I want to love my fellow brothers and sisters even if they don't share the same cultural background with me. When other Copts start telling me that other Orthodox Churches are not like the Coptic Orthodox Church, I get really sad because it is not true. Some of my other friends have recommended that I try and go to another Orthodox Church. Please let me know if there is something wrong with me if I happen to think this way.

Regarding the Christian unity, it is the desire of God for us to be one together "that they all may be one, as You, Father, are in Me, and I in You; that they also may be one in Us, that the world may believe that You sent Me" (John 17:21). Actually, as it is mentioned in John 17:21, our unity is our witness that Christ was sent by the Father to save the world. The unity requires love and humbleness and should be in faith "there is one body and one Spirit, just as you were called in one hope of your calling; one Lord, one faith, one baptism; one God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all" (Ephesians 4:4-6). It is impossible to be united while we interpret the Word of God differently. The Coptic Church is very eager to be united with all other Christians but on the grounds of the TRUTH. The ecumenical dialogue between the Coptic Church and the different Christian denominations is a strong evidence of her commitment to the unity and oneness of the Body of Christ. Although we are not yet in communion with the other denominations; we still love them and will continue todo so to the end. It is because we love them to the end, we refuse to be united with them except on the grounds of the TRUTH that is revealed in the Holy Scriptures.
