What is wrong with Harry Potter?

The correct question to ask is "what is right with Harry Potter" in order to avoid making wrong decisions. The church has the responsibility to teach and correct this generation and future generations. Harry Potter is a captivating character who fits into the new teenage pop culture. We know that teenage and pre-teen youth are usually influenced by popular role models, whether good or bad. Enamored youth are known to saturate themselves with memorabilia of their heroes and imitate their personalities. We see them in bizarre emotional hysteria when they are within reach of their teen "idols". They become defensive when challenged about such individuals whom they really do not know.

Harry Potter carries a grim and evil message that somehow has him mischaracterized as a victim and his misinterpreted efforts as good. The effect of the nature of this character is overwhelming. Witchcraft does exist and is evident in elements of society. There are some poor souls that have fallen victims to sorcery and the evil belief of witchcraft. It is part of a growing cult of Satan worshiping that does indeed exist. Although the story is depicted as "fictional", the idea is based on the reality of witchcraft, which draws its energy from the devil, himself.

As a church, we are proactive. We cannot stand idle, whether it is Harry Potter or any other form of flawed philosophies or principles. Our only goal is to spend eternity with our Lord Jesus Christ. There are some other books that are more wholesome and entertaining to our youth. Please examine the following scripture and compare the sins, vices and immoral activities that result from Harry Potter's influence. "Now the works of the flesh are evident, which are: adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lewdness, idolatry, sorcery, hatred, contentions, jealousies, outbursts of wrath, selfish ambitions, dissensions, heresies, envy, murders, drunkenness, revelries, and the like; of which I tell you beforehand, just s I told you in time past, that those who practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of God" (Galatians 5:19-21).
