Why were the angels sitting at the tomb? What is the relevance of them sitting as opposed to standing?

The angels stand in the presence of God, but Jesus Christ was risen and was no longer in the tomb. The angels sat in reverence upon the crypt at the one side of where Jesus Christ's head lay and on the other side at His feet. The angels' presence in the tomb witnesses to the miraculous resurrection of Christ, for in His burial, He was left alone.
