A friend of mine just told me that he thinks it is finally time for him to start reading the Bible. He is 29 years old and asked me about what order he should read it in. Should he start from Genesis and go in order from there? Should he start with Genesis and the Gospels? Is there a certain way you know that would be helpful for him?

Your friend may begin with the account of creation in the Holy Book of Genesis to grasp the understanding of the fall of mankind and the promise of salvation, which is summed up in the first 3 chapters, and then, continue to read the rest of Genesis. From there, he may begin reading the New Testament beginning with the Holy Gospel according to St. Matthew.
