According to the Law of Moses, Boaz married Ruth to perpetuate her dead husband’s name. How come Obeid is mentioned in the Bible as Boaz’s son?

The genealogy of Christ according to St. Matthew and St. Luke was inspired  differently  It is true that according to the Law of Moses Obid should have been called the son of Mahlon, Ruth’s deceased husband., However, Mentioning Boaz’s name was a great opportunity to mention His mother’s, Rahab, the harlot. God wanted to stop the Jews from taking pride in their ancestors. He wanted to show them that their ancestors had sinned; Judah sinned with Tamar his daughter in law and begot Perez and Zerah, David sinned with the wife of Uriah and Boaz the great grandfather of David was the son of Salmon by Rahab the harlot, so no need for boastful arrogance.

We should also note that St. Matthew recorded St. Joseph, to whom St. Mary was betrothed, as son of his biological father Jacob, rather than his legal father Heli as mentioned in the genealogy according to St. Luke. This is not a discrepancy but to prove that Christ is the Son of David, son of Abraham and son of Adam by both the biological and the legal genealogy.
