I was chosen to be the Choir director in my church; I need an advice regarding this service.

The spiritual role of a choir in a church is to help worshippers praise God through the church hymns and songs.

"Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thou soul, and with all thy mind" (Matthew 22:37).

The choir should not replace Sunday school preparation, but could complement it by being a productive activity following Sunday school classes.

Also if the choir has young children among its members, it will continually be in a growing stage. Choir songs should always encourage the learning of correct Coptic pronunciation and should encompass acceptable church songs and not be of an emotionally charged nature but of praise and worship to the Lord.

The service should further incorporate an in-depth study of our praises such as Midnight Praises and Kiahk. To better praise and sing one must have understanding.
What about making the choir you are in charge of to sing at the Church Conventions? Perhaps this would encourage others to begin choirs in their churches as a church activity to praise the Lord.

The most important advice in your service as a choir director is to keep before your and the choir members’ eyes, that you are praising God. See what David the prophet says about praising God:
"I will praise thee, O LORD, with my whole heart; I will show forth all thy marvelous works." (Psalms 9:1)

"I will declare thy name unto my brethren: in the midst of the congregation will I praise thee." (Psalms 22:22)

"O Lord, open thou my lips; and my mouth shall show forth thy praise." (Psalms 51:15)

"…because thy loving kindness is better than life, my lips shall praise thee." (Psalms 63:3)

"O sing unto the LORD a new song: sing unto the LORD, all the earth. Sing unto the LORD, bless his name, show forth his salvation from day to day. Declare his glory among the heathen, his wonders among all people. For the LORD is great, and greatly to be praised: he is to be feared above all gods." (Psalms 96:1)

"…so we thy people and sheep of thy pasture will give thee thanks forever: we will show forth thy praise to all generations." (Psalms 79:13)

"I will praise thee, O Lord my God, with all my heart: and I will glorify thy name for evermore." (Psalms 86:12)

"…make a joyful noise unto the LORD, all the earth: make a loud noise, and rejoice, and sing praise." (Psalms 98:4)

"Praise ye the LORD: for it is good to sing praises unto our God; for it is pleasant; and praise is comely." (Psalms 147:1)
In all these verses and many others, it is very clear that he praised God with passion. This passion is what you need to implant in the hearts of your choir.
