How do I know the difference between what is God's will and mine?

First, you need to pray expecting guidance from the Lord before making any decision.

Second, make sure your decision is according to the principles laid down in the Holy Bible. As you read the Holy Bible sometimes God leads you to a verse that fills your need exactly or to a passage from which you can deduce a principle.

Third, following prayer, confirm your contemplated decision by watching for signs from the Lord. God often causes outward circumstances to confirm the decision.

Fourth, following prayer, you need to feel a sense of peace concerning your decision. After prayer, God gives guidance through a settled inward peace; whereas in the case of a wrong choice, there will be an inward restlessness  regarding the wrong choice. "...and let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to which also you were called in one body; and be thankful" (Col 3:15).

Finally, you need to heed the direction of your spiritual father.
