Dear Holy Bible Contestant:

Peace and Love from our Lord Jesus Christ be with you.

Coming back by popular command is the original version of the Holy Bible Contest. This letter is to give you an overview of the contest and its rules. First of all, the topic of the contest for this year is the Holy Epistle of St. James according to the "New King James Version". For your convenience a copy of the book is below.

The Idea of the Bible Contest:
When you participate in the contest, you are competing as an individual to win the position of the highest score in answering questions related to the topic. The contestant with the highest score is invited to attend the following year convention half off. A certificate, valid for one year, will be issued and must be presented when registering for next convention.

Simultaneously, you are competing for your church as part of a team to win the contest as the team with the highest score. The winning team returns to his/her home church with the Holy Bible Contest Trophy.

How is the Contest regulated?
Each Church team consists of three contestants. Each team will have the chance to pick up a question at random from a pot. The contestants in that team may consult with each other to orally give one team answer to the question. If correct the team receives 3 points or else receives nothing.

Meanwhile, all other individuals (3 per each church) will answer the question in writing without communicating with any body. If the answer is correct, the individual receives one point, if not correct then the individual looses one point from his total score. If no answer was written, no points are exchanged.

The total score of an individual is the sum of all the points received for his/her written answers. The person with the highest score is the winner and will attend the following year convention half off. A certificate, valid for one year, will be issued and must be presented when registering for next convention.

The total score for a church team is the sum of the points received verbally plus the sum of the scores gained by the individuals in the team from their written answers.

Note that each church may substitute participants during the contest to give chance for more people to participate provided that no more than three are participating from the same church at any given question. Obviously, no changes are allowed during the time when a question is being answered.

We look forward to see all of you participating in the Holy Bible Contest, and hope that you will find the contest this year both informing and entertaining. Please, pray with us for the success of this convention.

Good luck!
