Newsletters

The Women’s Ministry newsletter is a monthly publication intended exclusively for the Coptic Christian woman of all ages. It is rather diversified to encompass somber topics such as practical devotionals and current events appropriate for the month , yet it is also witty without losing the Christian decorum. It is quizzical and informative, historically, psychologically and of course biblically.

I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me” (Phil. 4: 13)

In the New Testament, our Lord Jesus Christ introduced Fasting, after his Baptism in the river of Jordan He went to the dessert for forty days and forty nights to prepare for his Ministry. Also the Disciples of Christ fasted during their Ministries and commanded others to fast.

The Purpose of Fasting is to
  • Develop self-control (Emotions, passions)
  • Develop self- discipline(Be a better Christian)
  • Strengthens the spirit
  • Signifies the rejection of the world
  • Purify our hearts (To be pleasing to God)
  • Gain love of communion with God
  • Preparation for spiritual celebration (Easter, Christmas)
  • Capable of loving others

“ I humbled myself with fasting; and my prayer would return to my own heart.” (Psalm 35: 13)
