H.O.P.E. - A Method for You to Help Others in Need

COLLEYVILLE, TX. May 16, 2009 -- A message from the H.O.P.E. Committee:

Dear Friends of the Coptic Diocese of the Southern United States,

Do you search the internet often? Do you make any online purchases? Do you shop at Wal-Mart, Target, Toys "R" Us, Home Depot, Best Buy, Macy's or other stores? How about eBay and half.com, or even overstock.com? Do you use Travelocity, Expedia, or Hotels.com to make travel reservations? If so, please keep reading, as this email offers a method for you to help others in need, with no cost to you! All it will take is a few minutes for you to set it up. If you don't surf the net, and don't make any online purchases, still keep reading:

Why?

This email is to let you know of a new way to help the needy and the unfortunate through the social services of the diocese (H.O.P.E.- Help Other People Excel). A search engine called "GoodSearch" powered by Yahoo which donates to a charity of your choice as you use it to search. While "GoodShop" allows stores you use to make online purchases to donate a percentage of the purchase you make to that charity. The percentage can vary based on the store, but can range from 0.5% to 30%. The average is around 3%. This percentage/donation will be added up and mailed to H.O.P.E at the end of the year. It will then be used to help support our brothers and sisters in need and request support from H.O.P.E.

How do I do that?

To use GoodSearch to surf the net:

1. To perform internet searches, go to http://www.goodsearch.com/default.aspx (or just simply goodsearch.com).
2. In the box that says, "who do you GoodSearch for" and "enter your charity here," please enter: "Coptic Orthodox" and click on Verify. It will give you a list of options, please select "Coptic Orthodox Patriarchate Diocese of the Southern United States (Houston, TX)."
3. Once it is verified, you can reset to search. You can use that directly as your search engine, or install their tool-bar on your internet explorer. If you prefer to search through their toolbar, you can download it at http://www.goodsearch.com/toolbars.aspx this should make it much easier to use.

To use GoodShop to shop:

1. Either go to http://www.goodsearch.com/goodshop.aspx, or simply use the link to GoodShop from goodsearch.com.
2. Similar to step 2 above where it says, "WHO DO YOU SUPPORT" and "enter your charity here," please enter "Coptic Orthodox", and click on verify. Then select "Coptic Orthodox Patriarchate Diocese of the Southern United States (Houston, TX)."
3. Then click on the store of your choice from the options listed, and click "Goodshop this store." A window will come up, before you’re directed to the store’s website, a window will come up with the name of the charity. Please confirm that you have selected "Coptic Orthodox Patriarchate Diocese of the Southern United States (Houston, TX)."
4. Continue your shopping as normal.
5. Done...

All what we request is a donation of 10-15 minutes of your time...!!!
