Nashville, TN - Two Priest Ordinations

October 12, 2015

COLLEYVILLE, TX. October 12, 2015 -- On Saturday, October 10, 2015, the Nashville community was blessed with the ordinations of two new priests, Fr. Pachom Ibrahim and Fr. Theodore Ghaly, as His Holiness Pope Tawadros II performed the "laying of the hands" with H.G. Bishop Youssef next to His Holiness. This blessed event was attended by several bishops, some of the Diocese priests, and the Nashville community. Fr. Pachom will be serving the congregation of St. Mark Coptic Orthodox Church and Fr. Theodore will be serving the congregation of St. Pishoy Coptic Orthodox Church. We pray that the Lord will grant both Fr. Pachom and Fr. Theodore wisdom, love, and peace as they begin their new service.

"The work of the priesthood is done on earth, but it is ranked among heavenly ordinances. And this is only right, for no man, no angel, no archangel, no other created power, but the Paraclete Himself ordained this succession, and persuaded men, while still remaining in the flesh to represent the ministry of angels."
- St. John Chrysostom, On the Priesthood
