Did Mary (Lazarus’ sister) also know about that? Matthew 26:6-13 and Mark 14:3-9 are most probably referring to her as John 12:8. In John 11:25-27, Christ ordered Lazarus to come forth from the dead and gave him life again, confirming His divinity. Was Mary declaring His divinity and His resurrection by anointing His body before death?
Is there a known reason why St. Mary the Theotokos didn't go to the tomb early Sunday morning to anoint the body of her Son with the other ladies? The Virgin Mary is His closest relative. If anyone was certain of the incorruption of His human body and His resurrection, it should have been her. She is the one who knows the most about His divinity. Is this the reason that she did not go there to seek the living among the dead?
It appears from the Holy Bible that out of fear most of the disciples forgot about what the Lord told them about His resurrection. The chief priests remembered and wanted the tomb sealed and guarded until the 3rd day.
