What does "troporia" mean?

The word troparia is the plural of the word troparion. This word is derived from tropus in Latin or tropos in Greek, which means a phrase or verse added as an embellishment or interpolation to the parts sung in the Divine Liturgy.

A troparion is a short hymn celebrating a saint or an important event, and is used in the daily offices and liturgies of some of the Orthodox Churches in particular the Russian and the Greek Orthodox Churches.

Both terms "troparia" and "litanies" can be used as names for the verses after the Holy Gospel reading of each hour.
