Salome is mentioned In the Holy Bible as the wife of Zebedee and the mother of St. James and St. John (Mt 27:56). She sought places of honor for her sons in Christ's kingdom (Mt 20:20,21). She witnessed the crucifixion of our Lord (Mk 15:40; Mt 27:56) and visited the tomb on the morning of the Resurrection (Mk 16:1).
