In what ways does the Church respond to the existence of fossils, which appear to be modern humans' ancestors? Why do we believe that the modern human being is exactly what Adam was if there is fossilized evidence that human-like beings existed before us?

The Church's perspective of creation can be supported by science and has been notably and scientifically proven to be in harmony with science. Thus, the atheist community waffles between evolution to intelligent design to a big bang theory to a collage of modern arguments in futile attempts to discredit the Judeo-Christian response to atheism simply to avoid admitting that God is the Creator. From the teachings of the Holy Bible, never was the physical transformation of a species mentioned, and has clearly even today with the rapid increase of the population of the world has anything remotely closely ever occurred. Clearly stated in holy Book of Genesis, every animal, plant, and human populated after its own kind. The main discrepancy is the understanding of time. The measure of time was not clarified until the fourth day of creation when the regulation of the days, nights, and seasons were organized. Even then, the equivalence of twenty-four hours as the measure of a day was never quite revealed. Fossils of Neanderthals or any other human-like fossils are not to be interpreted as evidence against the teachings of the Holy Bible. These are mainly artifacts of whatever source of creation it may have been, but not a human in the image of God. Humans were created in a specific form, intelligence, ability to reason, ability of speech, emotions, ambitions, values, purpose, and beauty in the image and likeness of God and to be in communion with God.
