Do angels have free will? If yes can some of them still fall? If not when did that stop since they had free will and Lucifer and a 1/3 had fallen in the beginning? I searched the topic on many orthodox sites but no clear answer.

The Holy Scripture provides only one clear narrative regarding a fierce battle that had most likely taken place before the fall of man, though the accuracy of time is not documented due to the past, present, and future synopses provided in the Book of Revelation. If ascertaining that this illustration took place in the past, before the creation of man, the end result of that war in heaven determined the fate of all the angels at that time, whether they remained obedient to God, or rebelled and were expelled with Satan to the earth. This war reveals that angels also have a measure of free will, but without redemption. Unlike humans, all angels are ministers of fire (Cf Hebrews 1:7), and also referred to by the Apostle Paul as the "elect angels" (Cf 1 Timothy 5:21), which perhaps indicates that these are the angels who remained with God apart from those who joined themselves to Satan.

"And war broke out in heaven: Michael and his angels fought with the dragon; and the dragon and his angels fought, but they did not prevail, nor was a place found for them in heaven any longer. So the great dragon was cast out, that serpent of old, called the Devil and Satan, who deceives the whole world; he was cast to the earth, and his angels were cast out with him" (Revelation 12:7-9).
