A vast majority of the holy fathers of the 20th century, such as His Holiness St. Pope Kyrillos VI, His Holiness Pope Shenouda of Thrice-Blessed Memory, and Father Abd el Messih the Ethiopian (amongst others) speak very highly of the writings of Isaac of Nineveh. These holy saints are my inspirations, and truly have given the most true and Orthodox witness of contemporary times, being no less than the great saints of the 4th and 5th centuries. I say this because I know I am insignificant and feel ashamed to even bring forth this question, but why do we accept the teachings and writings of Isaac of Nineveh, with him being the bishop of the Nestorians and advocating universal salvation of everything, including Satan himself? I ask this wanting a genuine response, and not that in any way I know better or more correctly than any of the above-mentioned fathers, whom I truly ask to continue to pray on my behalf on an hourly basis.

Mar Isaac of Syria is recognized by all the apostolic churches as a prolific spiritual writer and figure. He abdicated his very brief administrative post and retreated to the desert to live an ascetic solitary hermitage. His discourses are profoundly applicable to all Christians and reflect a deep devotion to Christ, void of any theological controversies among churches.
