Can someone please explain in detail and clearly what is the appropriate limit of physical contact permitted during the engagement period?

Physical contact between an engaged couple should not exceed hand holding at most. Neither have any right to physical contact or any intimacy during the betrothal time (read 1 Corinthians 7:1-4). In the initial phase before engagement, first attraction develops, then each one must assess compatibility. The engagement period is an opportunity for the couple to determine the depth of their interactive relationship. However, the authority of intimacy and physical contact are granted after the Crowning Ceremony.
