How can we attempt to win people from outside the Orthodox Church when those within her are not convinced of, nor content with their Orthodox faith?

It is often said the 85% of all preaching and teaching is inspirational and only 15% instructional. There is no doubt that in our daily life, we need inspiration. Perhaps the Orthodox you are discussing faith with, needs this inspiration.

Along with the need for inspiration, there arises the need for knowledge. This knowledge of the One True Church needs to be assimilated into our lives as well. When we confess our faith to the One, Holy, Catholic, and Apostolic Church we are not only making a statement of belief but also accepting a responsibility.

Reading and studying the Holy word of God serve to expand an individual’s horizon and help them to emerge out of this questioning, skeptical phase into enlightenment by the work of the Holy Spirit in them. Two books worth reading include Orthodoxy, A Creed for Today (Coniaris) and Orthodoxy, A Way of Life by the same author.

"Where there is no counsel, the people fall; but in the multitude of counselors there is safety" (Proverbs 11:14).
