I have been struggling at my university ever since I got here. I study as hard as I possibly can only to fail anyway. I have no friends at school. I now have no one to turn to, except God of course  I honestly don't know what's holding me back from receiving God's comfort and Peace. I'm begging for help that I can't find. I don't know how to concentrate now, because I am so miserable. I often envision instances where I might be sick as a desperate plea for attention. I wish to spend every minute at church, because that's where I feel peace. When I do finally find something that pleases me, it is only followed by disappointment. I need help, so please pray for me.

In the Holy Book of 1 Samuel 30:1-6, we read the story of David who returned to his city to find the city was burned with fire, his wives and children were taken captives along with all the women and the children in the city, everybody was weeping until they had no more strength to weep, and in addition to all of this, David's friends blamed him for what had happened and wanted to stone him. The Holy Scripture says, "David was greatly distressed." This is a very sad picture of what could possibly happen to any person.

How did David deal with this situation? Verse 6, "but David strengthened himself in the Lord his God." What a wonderful truth that "God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. Therefore we will not fear though the earth should change, though the mountains shake in the heart of the sea; though its waters roar and foam, though the mountains tremble with its tumult" (Psalm 46:1-3).

I believe that peace is first found by being in harmony with God. How does a person discover true harmony with the Lord? Praise, Thanksgiving, repentance, supplication, and intercession are ways, which lead to harmony. Praying from within your heart and raising up your heart and mind to God. Sincere reading and meditating upon Holy Scripture further increase this harmony.
Harmony with yourself and with others is made possible through the Lord Jesus Christ, who Himself unites humans to God and to each other. We are to place our concerns and shortcomings into His Holy Hands and have faith that He will take care of them; as only He truly can.

Further, I would like to suggest that you visit a guidance counselor at your university and see if there are classes, which help college students, learn  correct study habits and study skills.

Many universities offer such non-credit courses in the evening and have been known to greatly improve grades particularly toward application type tests where memorization is discouraged. Studying as well as test taking are skills in themselves.that perhaps you need to be exposed to in order to do well in your studies.

Also another thought on this subject might be to re-examine your major. Perhaps your gifts lie in another field of study. Have you taken any testing to see where your capabilities are the strongest? Most universities also offer this test for between $15 and $20. They will then advice you of your highest scores and in what particular field your aptitude lies. Perhaps your talents and interests are better revealed through  testing.

I would like to close by asking you to read your Holy Bible in particular these verses on harmony and peace in the Holy Books of Romans 14:17, Galations 5:22, and Philippians 4:6,7.

Peace and harmony are something all Christians struggle for in their earthly life and you are not alone with this struggle.

"Into Your hands, O Lord Jesus Christ, I commend my spirit and body; bless me, save me, and grant me Eternal Life."
