What does the Holy Bible say about body piercing? My friend wants to get her belly button pierced?

Let us consider what the Holy Bible says about body piercing and tattooing.  "Do not tattoo yourselves or cut gashes in your body to mourn the dead" (Leviticus 19:28). This signifies that since the beginning of times, tattooing for any reason including mourning was forbidden.

The Lord Himself gave this directive.

These days, tattooing is used as an ‘ornament’ tool, and when a female decides to do piercing in such a location, I have to ask myself what’s the objective behind such an act?

Is there any moral incentive dictating your friend’s actions?
