Is it wrong to burn a cross? What is the meaning of a burning cross?

We honor the cross in our church. It has a special place in our hearts. It is a symbol of love, sacrifice, agony, strength, pride, joy, and much more. We value the cross not only because it reminds us of how much our Lord loved us, but also because it reminds us that through His suffering Satan had been defeated, and we became worthy of salvation.

To answer your question, "Is it wrong to burn a cross?" I need to know: are you talking here about a cross that someone owns, and over the years it got old and deteriorated? In such a case you can burn it and dispose of its ashes in running water, or you can give it to the priest. If you are talking about the cases of cross burning that have been presented in the media lately, then this is considered a hate crime, that is not accepted by the church, and is wrong. There is no significant meaning attached to a burning cross.
