Why does every liturgy have a reading from the Book of Acts?

The Book of Acts reveals the divine authority of God the Holy Spirit, the Church establisher. This book is still a work in progress, as the church grows and continues its confirmation in the entire world. The deacon calls for the congregation to pray for the One Holy Orthodox Church, for the patriarch and bishops, i.e., the successors of the apostles and disciples, and concludes with the prayer: "The word of the Lord shall grow and multiply, be mighty and be confirmed in the holy church of God, Amen."
