Is there only one life partner for us and is God the one who chooses him/her?

It is apparent that in the beginning, God's favor was to unite one man to one woman, of God's choice, comparable (and compatible). It seems clear that there should be only one life partner, God's choice. God is above time and will choose the right person at the right time for you personally. Pray that God will be involved and intervene in all your decisions without obstacles from your side.
  • "And the Lord God said, "It is not good that man should be alone; I will make him a helper comparable to him" (Genesis 2:18).
  •
  • "Then the rib which the Lord God had taken from man He made into a woman, and He brought her to him" (Genesis 2:22).
  • "Therefore a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife and they shall become one flesh" (Genesis 2:24).
In the New Testament when the Pharisees tried to test Him by discussing divorce; our Lord reiterated His intentions for this unity saying: "But from the beginning of creation, God 'made them male and female.' For this reason a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh'; so then they are no longer two, but one flesh. Therefore what God has joined together, let not man separate" (Mark 10:6-9). The same is written in the Holy Gospel according to St. Matthew 19:4-6. Our Lord further explained, "Moses, because of the hardness of your hearts, permitted you to divorce your wives, but from the beginning it was not so" (Matthew 19:8). Only in cases of sexual immorality can this bond be broken (Matthew 19:9).
