I have been going through unexplainable spiritual afflictions, as if the devil himself has been tormenting me, for about two years now. A few days ago I have experienced what seemed to be a sign from God, because much good came from it. The whole day was filled with signs from Heaven. I was filled with joy and I felt like the Holy Spirit has filled me and I felt that God has provided me a sign and has told me that my eternal life will be with God in Heaven forever. All of this because I have passed His test. Please tell me what you think about this.

It is certainly good news that you are no longer experiencing these tormenting spiritual afflictions; but it is unclear what produced them initially, how they persisted for two years, and what good has now come out of it. There are many struggles, inner and outer, emotional, psychological, social, etc., which can also lead to or mimic spiritual affliction if allowed to persist. Have these issues been addressed? How has your spiritual life now changed? Are you confessing, attending  Liturgies, and partaking of the Holy Communion on a regular basis? A life of repentance and partaking of  the Holy Eucharist for the remission of sins are the true essentials for salvation and eternal life, and no test can meet the measure of this Greatest Gift.

Mere signs and wonders alone are not enough; besides would discerning their authenticity matters, if one's conduct does not change? Remain steadfast in prayer and moderate in fasting with the guidance of your confession father. "...Turn Yourself to me, and have mercy on me, for I am desolate and afflicted. The troubles of my heart have enlarged; bring me out of my distresses! Look on my affliction and my pain, and forgive all my sins..." (Psalm 25:16-18).
