Is it wrong to view single life as a preparation for marriage or can single life be a calling in itself?

It is not wrong to view the single life as a preparation for marriage because that is the social and cultural norm. Young men and young women are expected to seek marriage within a certain age and when they are ready and have the spiritual and emotional maturity, as well as the financial security to accept the responsibilities of marriage.
