I have a number of questions to pose:

  • Why are we here on earth?

  • Why do we need to praise God? He is the creator and not in need of praise.

  • Why did Jesus have to sacrifice himself? God is the only one who can see the future; and therefore knew that our world would be so evil and that the majority are going to hell anyway.

  • What is the point of living in such a corrupt world as ours?

The Holy Book of Psalm 33 is just one of many psalms that give us many reasons why we should praise the Lord. "Praise the Lord with the harp... For the word of the Lord is right, and all His work is done in truth. He loves righteousness and justice; the earth is full of the goodness of the Lord. By the word of the Lord the heavens were made, and all the host of them by the breath of His mouth. He gathers the waters of the sea together as a heap; He lays up the deep in storehouses" (Ps 33:2-7). It is unfortunate that you think that no one praises God. Have you thought about the monks in the monasteries who are dedicating their life to praising the Lord? How can you assume that none of all those who go to church really worship the Lord? Elijah the prophet at one point in his life thought that he was the only one left faithful to God; but the Lord told him that He had reserved seven thousand in Israel whose knees had  not bowed to Baal (1 Kgs 19:14-18).

Even if the world is full of evil, remember that at the time of Abraham, God was willing to spare Sodom and Gomorrah if there were as few as ten righteous among them. Our God is a loving and merciful God "For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life" (John 3:16). God wants everyone to be saved;  "For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior, who desires all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth"  (1 Tim 2:3-4).

One should not look at the world in despair; but should pursue their own salvation and believe that we have a special place prepared for those many who believe in the Lord and follow His commandments "In My Father's house are many mansions; if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself; that where I am, there you may be also" (Jn 14:2-3).
