From the book "The Ladder of Divine Ascent" by John Cassian, I read that part about repentance and how those monks were so afraid of death lest they wouldn't be saved. For example there was a monk on his death bed and the other monks gathered around him asking him if he was scaredĀ Ever since I feel like we can never be sure if we will be accepted; and that salvation won't happen.

The point behind the chapter of repentance is not to lose hope in salvation but to be watchful. So, you should not trouble yourself with these thoughts. Remember that our God is a loving and merciful God. He knows the heart of everyone and will judge us accordingly. As long as you are a child of God striving to follow His commandments and walking in His path you should have inner peace enjoying His love. One of the beautiful prayers we recite in the Agpeya prayers is the conclusion of every hour. Learn to recite it with all your heart thinking of every word you say and asking for the mercy of the Lord and believing that our God is the One who 'does not wish the death of the sinner but rather that her returns and lives, who calls all to salvation for the promise of the good things to come'.
