Annual Coptic Hymns Competition

As last year the hymn competition will go through 2 phases:

	1^st Phase competition will be conducted on the individual church level, each church will be responsible for organizing this competition among their children. Each Church is required to register 3 children representing the church in the 2nd phase of the competition in each age group.
	2^nd Phase competition will be conducted between all churches where every church will be represented by 3 children in each age group.
	New Judges: It is highly recommended for each participating church in the Hymns Competition to provide three judges. Their names must be submitted in the Church Application by Septemeber 11, 2005

Competition levels

1st group: is for participants age 6 and under (the participant must not have exceeded his/her seventh birthday by August 6th, 2005). View hymns list »
2nd group: is for participants age 7 to 10 (the participant must not have exceeded his/her eleventh birthday by August 6th, 2005). View hymns list »
3rd group: is for participants age 11 to 13 (the participant must not have exceeded his/her fourteenth birthday by August 6th, 2005). View hymns list »

Rules of Scoring

	A panel of at least three judges will judge each contest (panel will be chosen from 1 priest and 2 known adult deacons from different churches).
	Each competitor will be asked to sing all the hymns assigned for his/her group in addition to reciting the memorized prayer in full. Click here to view the hymns list for this year's competition.
	Each Judge will rate the competitor's performance based on the following scoring system: 60 for correct tune and music 5 for correct word pronunciation 5 for spirituality of the performance 30 for reciting the memorized prayer Total of 100 points
	Use of written material is allowed.
	Points will be deducted from every competitor for any external help.
	Scores will be based upon the correct tune and music as the hymns linked to the competition's Web site.
