"Blessed is the man who trusts in the Lord, and whose hope is the Lord. For he shall be like a tree planted by the waters, which spreads out its roots by the river, and will not fear when heat comes; but its leaf will be green and will not be anxious in the year of drought, nor will cease from yielding fruit." Jeremiah 17:7-8
Beaten, stepped on, humiliated for years, and or many other hostilities. Sounds familiar? We all go through ups and downs, times of sunshine and times of darkness. We all experience lonely and gloomy nights and then the miracle of the impossible becomes possible again.
The hand of God never let's go of us. No matter how many times we doubt His existence and when hope becomes imaginary or a myth.
Human weakness is shared by all of us, no matter how godly the spiritual life we lead or how much wisdom we possess. We all fall and hit the ground every now and then, but the important thing is not how or why we fell, but how we rise up again.
By persevering and trusting the only One who can do the impossible. His hand can teach us lessons of humility, gratitude, and many other attributes when we admit our need for His mighty hand, which can pull us out of the pit and whatever impossible situation we are in and to direct our attention to Him.
During our life on earth we grow like a tree, and in the process of growing we need to be watered, pruned, and cared for in a special way during severe weather. This level of care will make us ready to bring fruits. And with that care we grow and flourish, when we understand that watering, pruning, and severe weather days make us who we are today and confirm our beliefs in the hand that helped us grow.
We all see God's hand among us, either through our own times of tribulation, other peoples' tribulations, or when people around us bring us back to Him. Unfortunately, we forget these experiences and we start the cycle of doubting all over again. However, if I just pause for a moment, close my eyes, and recall the times I was saved by God, maybe I can prevent myself from going through the cycle of doubt. But people seldomly do that when they face a big decision, or fall into temptation, or experience a terrible situation.
"For the mountains shall depart and the hills Be removed, but My kindness shall not depart from you, nor shall My covenant of peace be removed, says the Lord, who has mercy on you." Isaiah 54:10
Did God give us a limited number of times to help us and then He would pull His hand away from us or His hand would never let go? As it was said by Isaiah the prophet, the Lord our God will never pull His hand; He is always willing and ready to help. But often, it is we who let go of His hand and insist on being self-sufficient.
Sadly, many come to the wrong conclusion that God does not care, or He does not exist, or He is an illusion, and therefore, we should rely on ourselves and not on an unseen higher power.
That is why when people decide to assume the role of God, they put themselves in bad situations, such as
- Relying on earthly wisdom that is not reliable, and varies from one person to another.
- Ignoring and or discarding eternity and have nothing to hope for except a few years of earthly life.
"Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it will be opened." Matthew 7:7-8
Having God in the center of our life, can turn our world around from dark thoughts and darkness to a bright future full of peace and hope. No matter what happens in our life or the circumstances we face, we know all is planned by the love of God for us, in order to teach us something, or to grant us a wish of stronger faith, or bring us closer to Him… etc. Therefore, no matter what the reason is, we learn to trust Him to guide our steps until the very end.
The Lord is standing by the door of your heart and waiting for you to open it and to invite Him in. Open the door and ask God to come in and reside in your heart, so you can be guided by Him always.
You lead me
For I trust in You
Thank you Lord
