Assistant Professor of Accounting

Position Description

The Department of Business at a reputable university seeks a full-time Accounting faculty member. The person should have a Ph.D. in Accounting or a closely related field with expertise in accounting. College teaching experience is preferred. Women and minorities are strongly encouraged to apply. The tenure track position at the level of Assistant Professor will begin August 2014.

Duties

Duties will include teaching courses in the a full range of accounting courses including but not limited to principles, intermediate, taxation, and auditing. Undergraduate student-faculty research mentoring, experiential learning opportunities or other scholarship involvement is expected. Advising students as assigned, university and community service, reporting to Department Chair and working cooperatively with departmental faculty in complementing current departmental strengths are corollary responsibilities.

Qualifications

Qualifications include Christian commitment and Community Covenant lifestyle agreement; Ph.D. (preferred) in appropriate field; demonstrated college teaching ability; ability to integrate Christian faith into course lectures; business experience preferred, but not required.
