Position Overview:

The Admissions Counselor is responsible for the continued promotion of a university in order to actively recruit and communicate with prospective students and their families. This position is also responsible for all correspondence with prospects and applicants from their given region. This is a full-time, salaried, twelve month position, and the individual must be able and willing to work special events and participate in recruitment travel which will include some evenings and weekends. This position will work under the direct supervision of the Director of Admissions

Education Requirements:

·        Bachelor’s Degree Required

Skill Requirements:

·        Ability to provide excellent customer service through both verbal and written communication

·        Must be multi-task oriented and be willing to handle multiple projects at once

·        Possess great organizational and people skills

·        Maintain professional image and a strong work ethic

·        Must be proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel and have the ability to learn other required programs such as Colleague and Outlook

Essential Functions:
The specific job functions of this position may include but are not limited to the following:

·        Develop and maintain relationships with prospective students to encourage them to apply and enroll at the university

·        Conduct campus tour interviews and follow-up with personal notes and/or letters

·        Prepare detailed weekly reports in order to track contact numbers, application numbers, and daily work completed

·        Make at least 40 prospect calls per week

·        Enter all pertinent information on all prospect contacts into Colleague

·        Work to meet a jointly set application goal for your individual region

·        Distribute promotional mail outs to churches and high schools

·        Supervise student worker’s responsibilities such as returned mail, PCU’s, and other special projects

·        Willingness to work extra hours during special events such as registration, Homecoming, Frontline, and assigned weeknights to call prospects

·        Able and willing to travel for recruitment events including college fairs, high school visits, church visits, Winterfests, and LinkUps to represent the university
